actual coloring and taking pictures

So far the pictures I have taken of my gerbils have made them look so much darker than they really are...My gerbils are dove colored...any tips on picture taking???

I have the same trouble, but the other way around. Chevy (the one looking up in my pic.) always looks real light, even white. And he's a Tan/dove colour with white. His brother always stands out because he is black.
I would love to get a better picture of chevy because he has such a nice colour and great markings.
Both my boy's have the exact same marking, but each in a diffrent colour. It's really neat.

Both of you post your photos. I think I can give you some suggestions if I see the problem.

My pics are posted in the "Pics of Madeline and Jack" thread....they are dove colored...but look sapphire, even lilac.....
