how many..

would fit in a cage this size..
23 inches long, 18 inches high, 12 inches deep.
I have 2 in it right now but I'm getting a cage for 4 or possibly 5 so I need to know how many would fit in this so I have a rough idea of how much of a bigger cage I need to get.

It sounds to be a bit bigger than a ten gallon tank... maybe a 15g... I'd say that three... if it's for a very short time and the gerbils already know each other, then 4... but if it's permanently just three (a 10g is 20Lx12.5Hx11W)
