heya!

I am now in the UK, and planning to travel to Malaysia in 2 month's time. I have two beautiful Russian dwarf hamsters that I would like to bring along with me, as I will be staying in Malaysia for 6 months.... So, erm..

(1) does anyone know which airline allows hamsters on board in the passenger cabin?

(2) any rules and regulation? medical quarantine?

(3) any way to make them less stressed during the journey? it's gonna take more than 13 hours!

Thanx!

I can't help you regarding the malaysian bits because i'm in singapore. But i believe malaysia would have their own quarantine regulations just like most countries.

About making the trip less stressful, it shuld be easy. If you can, try to carry the hamster in a similar carrier you use to house them. If their current house is not portable or secure enough to be left in the company of cruel cargo, then try placing some old bedding and toys from their previous home. Before the trip, try not to make any drastic changes to their lifestyle, and feed some water rich fruits. This is useful if by some accident their bottle falls or they aren't able to reach the bottle.

These ofcourse, are just precautions. They aren't necessary. Your hamsters will probably make it through the 13hours even in the worst of conditions.
