i've this pressing problem with my 3-4week old saphirre babies..recently i noticed white flaky stuffs on their fur. it looks something like wet dandruff?

the hammys arent scratching like crazy tho' i read on sites that they can b caused either by old age, mites or allergy. they arent old, i dun tk it's mites coz they arent scratching like mad...

btw my hammys r sleeping on paper towels ..
anyone encountered something similar b4?

wat type of medication does one adminster in such situations?

I read somewhere in a forum that if all else fails the owner can use human's antibotics to b given to the hammy in their liquids? but my problem is that my hammys duno how to sip from their water bottle! http://petshub.com/ubb/confused.gif

Your hamsters *might* have an ear infection. The scratching will cause the skin around the ears to flake, hence the dandruff-like bits on their fur.

It's best to seek the vet's consultation for proper advice & medication.

Oh dear, I'm afraid I really have no idea. I've never encountered this problem before, so I'm sorry, I can't help you with it.

Perhaps someone would be in a better position to answer your queries.

I hope your babies are ok http://petshub.com/ubb/smile.gif
