How can I tell whether my hamster is a male or female? My hamsters in the past have come from pet stores where they grew to be old and nobody wanted them. Usually the pet store could tell me because they had them so long. But this one came from a different pet store. As I walked out the door the lady said I was doing the hamster a favor??? So now I would like to know what sex my hamster is any help will be very apprieciated! Thanks :angel:

I think it's so much easier to tell on a syrian because males have...umm.."torpedos", for lack of a better word. If you have a dwarf and just can't tell, smell it every day, lol. Sounds weird, but if it's a female, one day you will notice a very distinct odor.
