I'm just as clueless as you are. My puppy (I have two other dogs, not including this one), never stops chewing either. Shes chewed all the wooden barstools, shoes, the plants on the patio, everything. I think its just probably just a chewing phase. We have tons and tons of toys for her too, but I guess we'll have to wait until she outgrows this stage. Good luck!

HI
I UNDERSTAND WHAT YOU ARE GOING THROUGH EVEN THOUGH, MY DOG THAT CHEEWS IS ONLY 8 MONTHS OLD. NOW IS YOUR DOG CHEWING OR EATING SHOES AND CLOTHS? I GUESS THE ONLY FEW THINGS THAT I CAN SAY IS DONT LEAVE YOUR SHOES WERE THEY CAN BE REACHED BY YOUR DOG(S). I DID READ THAT YOU HAVE PLENTI OF CHEW TOYS FOR YOUR DOGS(S)? THEY NEED TO BE DISTRACTED FROM THOSE TYPES OF ITEMS IN THE HOUSE. THEY MAKE SOME SORT OF SOUR APPLE SUNSTANCE TO APPY TO AREAS WERE DOGS ARE NOT TO CHEW. ITS A LONGSHOT....BECAUSE SOME DOGS LIKE IT AND SOME CANNOT STAND IT.
GOOD LUCK :wall:

I also agree with brandy-pup. your dogs will need some sort of training or obedience school

Puppies up to age 2 can still posess the urge to chew and eat everything. You will need to start reinforcing the behavioral patterns. Positive reinforcment for good behavior, consequences for bad behavior. You can either hire a behavioral trainer, or work on methods yourself. There is a product called COMFORT ZONE BEHAVIORAL MODIFICATION PLUG-IN, that is available through pet stores. Its a natural, hormonal plug in that help to break bad habits like chewing, barking, deficating and other anxiety related behavors. Try using this in addition to the reinforcment techniques and a product called "bitter apple". Its a spray for furniture, upholstery or whatever that makes a nasty taste so dogs will not chew it. Place things that you do not want chewed away or up high. Dont leave them lying around all day when you are gone and expect your puppy to know better, they wont.
Try the three things I talked about and let me know if any of them work out for you.

One thing that'll help, is are they doing this while your home?? They could have separation anxiety..if not, then i would have to agree the the prior posts, they'll need training, and the bitter apple stuff works good. and i've heard good things about "comfort zone"...i work at petsmart, we carry all that jazz. Best of luck to ya! let us know what happens

get like a mint bottle and put a drop of mint on the dog toys which they are allowed to play with then show them that mint stuff are allowed to chew on or play with. get a few shoes or stuff animals that are not allowed to chew on and then let them smell they toys and the non chewable items and give them 1 at a time like 1 mint toy and them let them smell it and give them a dog treat and then let them smell and a shoe and dont give them anything try that it will show them good things come from minty stuff or whatever scent u wanna use. keep training them everyday like 2 or 3 times a day for like couple minutes until they understand
good luck
