cats in heat

hi i was just wondering if it was possible to get my kitten( she is 8 months old) spayed while she is heat let me know ASAP!!! she is driving us crazy!!

Our cat did the same thing (and drove us
nuts for several days). However, the vet
said we need to wait until she's out of heat because her uterus would be enlarged while in heat and it's more difficult to remove the ovaries. You'll notice when she's no longer in heat and will have to wait about a week or so before getting her fixed. Call the vet as soon as she stops the howling and make an appointment as soon as possible. Sometimes cats can go in heat 2 or 3 times in a row with only a small break in between, so you'll need to be diligent in catching that break.

Just for the record, our cat went into heat at exactly this time of the year too. We managed to get her fixed in January of 1999, after listening to her (on and off) for 6 weeks, until the whole process finally stopped and we could get her into the Vet.
