I thought gecko's did like to climb, I just started to be able to handle my lizard and took him out of the tank, I don't know if that has anything to do with it but he started climbing up the vines I have in the tank all the way to the top and places his face against the screen like he wants out.
I took him out let him crawl on my arm and hand for a little while then he gets where he seems to be looking all around and wants to explore, I let him crawl around on the couch a little, this guy moves fast so I have to constantly watch him.
Do they like getting out of the tank? and if so, is it all right to let him go where he wants?

what kind of gecko is it that you have? Some geckos do not mind being handled and it is ok to handle them, but you want to make sure that you keep a close eye on them when they are out of the cage. You do not want your gecko to get away from you and get lost, cuz they will not live long if they get away.

Some individual leos climb a bit. He does want out of his tank, but that doesn't mean it's good for him. Limit sessions out of the tank to 15 minutes or so--and only if it's warm. Remember, his heat is in the tank, and if he gets too cool too often, or for too long, he could be come ill. (Respiratory infections are common). If he rubs his face on the screen, remove the vine and place it lower so he can't reach the screen.
