hi-
all shall ask for a friend of mine.
She got a new tank.
11 inches tall, circumference of 22 inches at the base and 20 inches around the tank.
The tank looks like acylinder.
She would like to have some Guppys and some Ghost Shrimps in there.
The questions now is:
How many Guppys (she thought about 3 male, 5 female) she can but in there,
and also how many Shrimps (11)?
Also if she than still need a bottom feeder or a snail ('cause she got the Shrimps in there)?

Thank u already very mutch for your answer

Hi,

It sounds like the tank holds about 4 liters of water. Regardless of how much water it holds, however, looking at the size of it, it is too small for all that fish life.

Those Ghost Shrimp that your friend is planning on having so many of? They will grow to be 1 - 1.5 inches long (females are bigger.) Then 8 guppies total, all of which are about maybe half an inch long (excluding fancy tails.) That's just too much fish and shrimp for that tank.

I would recommend getting a bigger tank if she wants that many. Otherwise, she can just have less fish and shrimp.

I would say no more than 1 Ghost Shrimp and 2 or 3 Guppies (male or female.)

Tell your friend to always keep in mind how big fish, shrimp, etc., grow to when deciding how many can fit in a tank. Some fish start our REAL small and end up growing HUGE (like Goldfish.) Size can be deceiving.

And no, she won't need any other bottom feeders. Though she may find an algae eater to be useful (or just keep the tank away from direct sunlight.)
