Does anyone have pet insurance? Well I decided to invest in two policies for the dogs. The vet bills are becoming to much and for 50.00/MO the policy covers 4500/illness and/or injury/visit and 14000/policy year. This includes all vaccinations, dianostics, treatments, surgerys, prescr iptions. I love my dogs, but dont want to go broke either. I Have a pit that is white and she seems to have bad allergies and god knows what else will be wrong with her in the near future.

I have pet insurance with VPI and I love it! We have our policy for both of our boys. Smokey a 4 year old black lab and Trevor who is a 7 month old black lab. Both boys have been covered since they were 6 weeks old. I think you will learn to love the service that VPI can give you. About 2 years ago we had to take Smokey to the emergency vet for testing, etc. I had to pre-pay everything, but once I submitted all my receipts to VPI I was sent everything back minus the $45 ER deducible! It's sooo worth having this! Accidents happen and I feel very lucky to know that if something happens to my boys I have VPI to help me to help them. Good luck! My best recommendation is to sign on up!! You'll recoup your costs quickly with the allergy medicine and testing!

Hey I have a question about that company. I had a flyer of the VPI, with Denali's binder of papers, and vet bills, from her previous owner, and when i was reading it, it said the policy only covered one pet, and it was like $14 a month. Can you do multiple pets? Or do you have to pay 14$ for EACH dog/animal?

Ok...the way it works is you need to have a policy per pet. I have the extended plan for my two boys. Smokey (original plan) is about $28 a month and Trevor (additional plan to Smokey's) is about $25 a month. Keep in mind that I bought the additional coverage for my boys so that routine appts, shots, etc will be covered. When you have multiple pet policies you get discounts on your additional policies. I hope this helps! Also when and if you ever need to use Pet Insurance you will be very thankful you have this service. Accidents happen and I'm thankful I have it - afterall....boys will be boys... :)

Thanks, that helps.. I know the feeling, we have had to put two of our animals down in the past year, and they had to run lots of tests on our kitty cat, and we just really don't have the money to catch up with the bill. My brother said he was going to pay for our cat Koala, but he hasn't done it yet  Hopefully we are going to get it paid off soon... But I'm sure its quite a relief... Thanks again!
