Hey guys. Right now I only have a 55 gallon tank that has the long (size of tank, length wise), purple floresant light above the tank, and it now flickers every 2 or 3 seconds after it's turnerd on. Is this a short, or is this the way bulbs of this kind burn out?

Hmm, I'm a novice to this. Can you explain to me what a ballist is, and how to replace/fix it? Thanks.
