I have two cats had lived together peacefully for over two years. On the first of March I moved into a new hoe. The cats can not get within 10 feet of each other without an allout brawl. They fight on my bed in the middle of the night and end up scratching my face up (not to mention scaring the he77 out of me). The older and larger cat (by about 7lbs) will hardly even come out from uder the bed. They use to have small fights but nothing serious and I know there current behavior is directly linked to the move. I don't however, know how to get them to stop this. They are both wonderful loving cats and the younger smaller one has seemed to adjusted (as long as the other cat is not arounD). I need any advice anyone can give me on how to helpthem through this and if it will work it self out!! Thanks

Peanut, how is everything going on for you and your cats?
The shifting of house has surely affected them, and caused them to be more stressful. They are not used to the envoirnment, thus they are more uncomfortable and easliy agitated.
You will need to give them assurance and let them have their own bed/space. Talk and stroke them often to make them feel safe in your new home.
Place some cats toys around in the house. Have balls around to let them play and forget about the new envoirnment.
Hope these works.

garfield is so right. stress is causing your kitties to act out of the ordinary. changes in environment, people, other animals often make cats very stressed becuz cats love to have things the same way everyday. listen to garfield's other advice about attention and space, because it is all totally true. hope things work out ok!

Cats usually do this because they had a set territory in the old house and now they are in a new house with new smells, new things, new everything. I think they just have to find their special spot in the house and resolve their territory issue.
If you had anything that belonged to only one cat, such as a blanket or anything, try to place it in a special place in the house so he/she can declare that place as their own. My cats use "their' chair as a safehaven where the other cat does not dare to venture. It helped them move in to their new home.
