my class just bought 2 hamster;a winterwhite(male) & a pearl winter white(female)3 weeks ago.And we have 1 female winterwhite(she killed her mate)before we bought this new pair.okey, now i need some answer for this questions below. 1-which is better?hamster mix or pellet? 2-why the WWfemale attacks the WWmale when we put the WWfemale into the WWmale cage?(before that we put the female pearlWW into another cage) 3-is it true that we have to wait for 4 months before the pearlWW female give birth?(the shopkeeper told us that) 4- can we give cucumber everyday for a week as their food? 5- Do we have to seperate the male from the female if she gives birth?

I have WW's and teddybear hamsters...as well as many many other pets. My WW's have had their first litter. I did not seperate daddy from the family, but he does have plenty of room. The family is doing well and I have noticed that daddy is just as loving with the little ones as mommy is. One of the babies crawled out of the nest and daddy was snuggling with him/her. They are still little and have their hair but their eyes are not open yet. Good luck with you hammys
