I recently bought two hamsters and they got along fine at first, now they fight whenever they meet....they used to sleep together, but after yesterday, one dun allow the other one enter and they even fight.

Also, one of them was active when i first bought it, but now become quite withdrawn. The other one was shy as first, but now it's the only one that play the running wheel at night.

Their sleeping cycle is strange too, they sleep in the day and active at night. is it normal?

how to get them to trust me more?

i really worry and dunno what to do.

hi

are your hamsters males or females? and are they dwarfs or syrians?

also, hamsters are nocturnal, this means that they are supposed to sleep in the day and be active at night. so don't be too worried, ok?

what is the difference between dwarf and syrian? I bought them at pet world and the ppl couldn't even tell me whether they are males or females, so i dunno if they are dwarf or syrian...so how to tell them apart?

What do they look like? You might want to get a book on hamsters so that you can find out more about them. Whenever you have two or more animals together one will be more dominant than the other, it may be that the one that is acting shy right now is afraid to play with the meaner more agresive one. As long as they are not hurting each other I would let them be as they will get to know one another and get along better. But you really need to research your pets a little. I am sure that you can find pictures on the internet of the different types of hamsters.

Their sleeping cycle is not strange. All Hamsters sleep during the day and are active at night so don't worry about that. Also, just about everyone you ask will tell you that hamsters would rather be alone than with another Hamster. So you might want to seperate your Hamsters and they will probably be much happier. The best of luck to you!
