i just bought a new hamster and whenever i put a toilet roll in for it to sleep,it just keep shitting in it,so is it ok for it to just sleep at its corn cob bedding?another question is that nowadays i seem to find small ants inside my hamster's tank,is it normal too?

Hamsters shit and sleep anywhere.

As for the ants, it isn't normal. Clean your cage often. Ants can cause death to your hamsters. Probably there could be an ant nest nearby. Check that out at once.

most hamsters will not potty and sleep in the same place, but it is ok for him to sleep on his bedding. I know this sounds funny, but they actualy sell little litter boxes for hamsters, as most use a certain area of the cage and can be taught to use the litter box. You might consider one of the little wood or plastic homes that they sell for the little guys at the pet store. But they do love to dig around in their bedding and make their own nest as well. Hope you have tons of fun with your little fuzzies

dude, if you have ants in your house you should move or getsome help, as for them getting the hamster...... i heard of them crawling up a hamsters rear nd eating it out from the inside, be careful!!!!!
