Unusual names? hmm....like, do you mean names from books or something? My doggies names are : Bitsy- when we got her for Christmas (I was in the first grade) when me and my sister just started yelling "Bitsy- the dog is so itsy-Bitsy!"- hence the name Bitsy. Klondike- the breeder named him because hes white and looks like the white polar bear species, the Klondike bears in all the cold climates.
Muffin- actually, I don't really know why we named her Muffin. When my dad and I bought her, I had originally thought of "Caramel" because her spots looked of the caramel color. However, when we got home, and the rest of the family saw her, the name "Caramel" seemed too hard for such a little cutie. My sister came up with "Muffin"- I have no clue why though. So often I hear the same repititive names, like, Buddy, and Lady, etc etc. You might want to try the Petshub name thing, or go to different sites and check out their names. Good luck! :) Enjoy the pups! :)

I named Sargeant in respect of two things actually three. One my brother is in the Army and he is a sarge of some sort, when my hubby was in the service he was a sarge, and I wanted to show respect to all the soldiers in Iraq and Kuwait and Afghanastan. So he is named Sargeant and we call him Sarge for short. I personally name my pets after I see them and how they act. I would hate to see you name them sweetcheeks and have it have a grumpy attitude. There are all sorts of names out there, just remember if they take off running you will have to yell this name numerous times. Thats how they suggest naming kids. If you like the name scream it ten times fast. If you cant accomplish that then think of a name that is easier. :partyguy:
Good luck with your new pets and naming them.

What about PICKLES? I have a friend with an animal named that and I think i's so cute. I dunno, not a lot of animals get named after food. But they almost all, really really like food.
Pickles Onion Oats Peaches
Or maybe even a color: Red Blue
I agree though....you hav eto name them according to their personality. You don't want them to have a complex do you?

I dedicate this name to my favorite Shitzu, she is so old has no teeth and is going blind, her name is Bandi,I also like the name Muggsy, or Buggsy, how about chewy off of star wars,or because they look like teddy bears, how about Teddy, or Bear.

Personally, I would wait to chose a name until I knew their personality. My rabbits were all known as "The Bunny" or "The White One" etc until I got to know them. Same with pretty much all the animals I've ever owned, including cats, dogs, guinea pigs, hamsters, and birds.
Chances are, if you name them before you have them you'll just end up changing the name in a few weeks time anyway.

If you go to www.puppydogweb.com, they have a link where they will give a list of names for dogs. They have TONS! If there isn't one on there, there is a link for 'breed profiles' and then you should be able to find it on there somewhere. Good luck! I agree with personality wise... all of my pups were already named when we got them.
The name Sarge, for my boxer/GSD mix, fits him so well, because he's very very protective.. He's also big, so we call him 'Sarge the Barge' LOL
Then my two huskies are Sheiba and Denali! Denali was named after a mountain in Alaska, I think it's cute... Half the time, people comment more about the car 'Denali' than a mountain LOL, when I tell them it's actually a mountain, their like 'Oooh'

Some unusual female names I like are:
Hibiscus
Alfalfa
Denali
Riddle&Rhyme would be good because youre getting 2 dogs and the names match
Indigo
Razzle&Dazzle another 2 dog name thing
Fable
Clementine
Haizel
Cricket
Or you can choose names that have to do with their looks or personality like:
Lovey (loveable)
Poet (graceful)
Kibble (if they absolutely love food or kibble)
Hope I helped :)
