I have 2 mice, a mum and her daughter. It seems that they are mating... but I'm sure that they are both females. The mum got pregnant because I left it in the cage with the male too long, (I thought that it was a female and so did the pet shop) and i saw them mate, like climbing onto each others backs and pushing, and now the mum and daughter seems to be doing the same thing. I am 100% sure that the daughter is a girl.

I have a female mouse that does that to her sisters all the time. Have no idea why...maybe females have a dominace thing too???

They are just showing dominance. They are trying to find a pecking order, each one of them wants to be boss, and that is their way of letting the other know it. My rats do it all the time. --No worries--

Yes, my two female mice (not related) seem to do this every 3 weeks when on their 'heat' period. Oh, and by the way HI everyone I'm new here.
