And goodness no I'm not giving away my cat and dog! I've been visiting a website for quite some time, and have noticed that several of the cats and dogs have been there for many months!
I'm talking about the Minnesota Valley Humane Society, located in Burnsville, Minnesota. Some of the cutest, friendliest critters have been there for way too long. A dog in particular, Buck, is an English Springer Spaniel who has seizures, and has been there for at least 3 or 4 months. A lot of the dogs there are super friendly, yet it takes such a long time for someone to adopt them.
And the cats. My friend has played with some of the cats and she absolutely loves them, saying they are so nice and adventurous. Most of the cats have their fronts declawed, are spayed/neutered, and the adoption fee is usually $65-$75. And yet, these little guys never get adopted fast enough.
As for small animals, they have a lot of rabbits and guinea pigs. Every once in a wile they have rats, hamsters, mice, or birds, but not too often. They have so many rabbits/guinea pigs, that seem so sweet, but are there for many months.
It's just great that this place doesn't euthanize unless the animal is sick or has behavioral problems, or they are just simply out of room. It's good to know that these animals will stay there until they are adopted. I would so LOVE to take any of these animals, but I'm only 13 and can't do it. So anyone who is near this place, and can care for these animals, please think about it. I hate to see them stuck there.
Here (http://www.mvhspets.org) you can visit the website, and see some of the animals.
