hi, i have a Crittertrail X and i think my hamsters are bored by it. do you guys recommend any good toys that would be able to fit in a limited space? i would expand and make it cool...but 1.) i dont have the room...and 2.) its expensive. so any advice you guys could give me on any good toys or something to make them unbored would be greatly appreciated. thanks!

With a limited space, it is hard. I have something similar to THIS (http://www.petsmart.com/global/product_detail.jsp?PRODUCT%3C%3Eprd_id=84552444178 0271&FOLDER%3C%3Efolder_id=2534374302026394&ASSORTMENT%3C%3East_id=2534374302023695&bmUID=1089346091679) , only the wood pieces are more of a rectangle/triangle. My girl loves it, I have it hanging on one of the shelves in her crittertrail 3, and she attacks it all the time. Only thing is, I don't know where you would be able to put one in a CT X.

I sometimes just put an empty toilet paper roll in her cgae, and she does whatever she wants with it. I also have THIS (http://www.petco.com/product_info.asp?familyid=6565&sku=4258312250&tab=6&dept_id=1616&c1=1604&c2=1615&c3=1616&ct1=Hamsters+%26+Gerbils&ct2=Toys+%26+Accessories&ct3=Accessories) little boot, although Snoopi isn't too fond of it.

If you take them out for a lot of playtime, you can buy toys that would be great in the cage, but are just too big, and let them play with it outside of the cage. Putting toys in an already small space will not work. I bought one of THESE (http://www.petsmart.com/global/product_detail.jsp?PRODUCT%3C%3Eprd_id=84552444177 7018&FOLDER%3C%3Efolder_id=2534374302026361&ASSORTMENT%3C%3East_id=2534374302023695&bmUID=1089346570723) . I got the 42 piece set (the one with the blue border in the picture). No matter what I do, that will NOT fit in the cage. So, when it's playtime, I set it on my bed and Snoopi plays with it then.

Here, I just thought of something that would create some more space, but I'm not 100% sure it will work, or if you want to do it. You could take the wheel and the spiral ramp off/out of the cage, and buy one of those outside wheels. (THIS (http://www.petsmart.com/global/product_detail.jsp?PRODUCT%3C%3Eprd_id=84552444177 7331&FOLDER%3C%3Efolder_id=2534374302026356&ASSORTMENT%3C%3East_id=2534374302023695&bmUID=1089346801284) ). With the ramp gone, you have a little more space. :)
