I am interested in buying a hamster I already have a pet rabbit and wanted another pet to take care of and I was interested in buying from a pet store and wanted to know what to look for as far as health goes and what's the best breed. also what kind of poop do they have is it firm like that of a rabbit or loose like a feret?

Hi! Pretty much all breeds of hamsters are healthy, but i recommend you get a syrian since they have the longest lifespan of them (they can live 2-3 years, some of mine had lived to be 4) and they are more mellow from what ive heard, theyre recommended for beginners. their poop is not hard or soft, at least they shouldnt be. dont be alarmed if they eat it, this is normal. Anyways if you decide to buy them, which i recommend, have fun.
