Howdy y'all :c)

In a few weeks, I will be acquiring a Congo African Grey baby! This particular baby was attacked by one of his parents in the nestbox before the breeder pulled them to handfeed, and is missing a foot. I am in the process of setting up a cage for him that will be more accessible for him than a typical cage would be. I am currently owned by a Quaker named Banshee. I am totally inexperienced with Greys, and have never had a pet of any sort that is disAbled! I would love to hear from anyone who has a special needs bird. Any and all advice will be very much appreciated. Thanks in advance! :c)

Hey Donna, My bird is not disabled but she is a congo grey and I love her to pieces!!
Greys are the best bird to own because they do not scream and they are playful and one of the best talkers of all parrots!
My Abby just turned 3 this past Nov and she has been a total joy in our lives and I can never imagine my life without her, I handfed her from 2 weeks of age and now all grown up she has a never ending vocabulary and keeps us laughing!!

You will certainly enjoy your grey http://petshub.com/ubb/smile.gif
Keep us updated on your new baby and best of luck!!!

he's lucky it happened when he was so young, he can just learn the first time how to move about and will never know the difference.. I wouldn't worry much about him, he'll catch on quick about how to move.

teach him! greys are adorable and the most talkative parrots. man.. if you ever get tired of him, I'll take him off your hands. =D
