Won't let me get a parakeet! :(

I have always wanted a parakeet, more than any other other pet, since I am really interested in birds. :o The only problem is, I have NO idea how i'm going to convince my parents on getting one. :( Whenever i had asked my parents for pets in the past, i always got a "yeah, right" or a "no way, no more pets" and we only have 3 cats... :rolleyes: I am aware that it of course takes responsability, and care to take care of a parakeet, or any kind of pet. I even promised to pay for all of it, but still, my parents seem to think of me as a brick wall whenever i want something. :mad: Does anyone have any suggestions on how i can convince my parents on letting me get a parakeet? :confused:

Thats the same way when my sister and I were begging our mom about getting a bird for a pet and she kept saying no over and over agian till one day jack came home when my dad came back from the petstore but that was all the way and '96 or '97 and he is alive and healthy today. If I were you I would wait before asking them agian.
