Hey there, I was just wondering if this is anything to be concerned about? I have a chubby little all white, with red eyes female dwarf hamster. She just walks around the cage with her eyes closed all the time! It's kind of funny, but I don't know if it's something to worry about or not.

Worry. If she is an adult and fully awake she made have an eye infection. Try GENTLY washing the eye area with some eye wash (human stuff is fine). See if the eyes look OK. Other posters will soon have more ideas. . .

my idea is just to read a book about it or something okay!

I would also check the vet to see if they can give you some meds.
I wouldn't recommend using human eyewash because it could have ingredients that could further irritate your hamster eye. Since it is a dwarf trying to rub her eye could just be a little too rough especaially while trying to keep them still.
that was not a funny situation by the way and you should worry

does your hamster do taht ALL the time or when he wakes up for snacks or something of that sort...
my hamster, after he wakes up or wakes up for just a snack, has his eyes still closed for while...good 20-30 mins...i can tell just how awake he is by how his eyes are and if his ears are up or not....
if his eyes are closed or half way closed and his ears are down i do not touch him...he's jumpy when he's sleepy
I wouldnt worry unless he does it ALL the time ...check if you see any discharge around his eyes or swelling...

20 to 30 minutes without opening his eyes, is far far too long and I would look closely in his eyes to see if he has a cyst or something interfering with his eyes.

Could it be possible that she could be blind?

Hey, thanks!
I don't think she has an infection. she hasn't been doing it too much anymore and her eyes aren't oozy or anything. I thought she might be blind too because i heard white with red eye hamsters have more of a chance of being blind but i dunno if that's true or not. I'll keep a close watch on her though and make sure she's doing ok. I think it'll be fine..but any other info might be useful anyway :)
