One of my new wood frogs has a broken leg (found him like that). IT looks as if it is a new break...it is very swollen and red. I called the vet, and they said to treat it the same way That I treated my whites tree frogs broken leg....I just kept him in a small container so he couldn't move much.
I put this wood frog in a margarine container...but his leg is really red and swollen. Is there anything i should do to make him more comfortable?

Sorry to hear about your frog. I also have a frog with a broken leg. So I am going to take him to the pet shop to see if they can help. They are really good at taking care of pets who are not feeling to good. I just hope that he will be able to get better because he is my only male tree frog. Unless if my baby frog is also a male. Sorry that I can't help with your frog. But after I go to the pet shop today and see what they say I will immediatly post it.

Ah, my frog is long gone....had nothing to do with her leg though, whcih healed nicely. I just reccomend putting your frog in a small container, with about half an inch of clean water and a rock to sit on, and imiting its mobility. Ambers leg healed nicely like that, and my whites tree frogs leg healed like that a few years ago.
good luck with your frog!

I have my frog in a small container with some water. But I can't really fit a rockI have in it. How big does the rock have to be??? And how big should the container be??? Right now I have him in a container that is the size of a small plastic lego box.

well, how big is your frog? I had mine in the smallest possible critter keeper. The rock was just large enough to allow the frog to get mostly out of the water.

My frog is I think it is full grown. It is a green tree frog. But I think they get to be some where between 1 to 3 1/2 inces. I need to check though.

Thanks. My frog is doing a lot better now. I think his leg is almost heald. He broke his leg some where near the second or third week of March. If I am correct his leg should be heald on sunday of the second or third week of april. I think it takes about a month for a frogs leg to heal. Thank the lord that he will might be able the breed with my female tree frog.
