wow... do hamsters have an extreme sense of smell or something? my hamster pookie is so incredible! its like 5am and i hear some noises and i'm thinking that i have a rat or something in the house, but then i hear it come up to my bed so i grab it n im thinking, omg is this pookie? n it was him!

i cant believe he found a way to get out of his cage and come to me! dood, i saw him jump on the wheel and it kept spinning... its like me using my whole strength to spin that wheel... this hamster is active n strong! he climbs everywhere and drinks a whole water bottle in less than a week. man... does everyone's hamster find their owner or something? pookie just totally shocked me!

:) thats one good thing if they escape...u can catch them with food....(don't ask)and yes, they have AWESOME hearing and smelling...

I once spotted something moving under my blanket!! I then felt little hammie feet on my stomach, and I was soon face to face with a hamster who had escaped! Quite a surprise to wake up to.

both my hammies are like that. they both follow me and one of them knows how to escape. then he comes to me. he cant climb by bed though, but he knows how to get up and down the stairs.

Funny!

I once had one sister escape for a day, and then I spoted her on top of the Habitrail she escaped from trying to gnaw her way BACK IN, while her sister inside (who I just moved there) was trying to gnaw her way out!

My hamster escapes quite often and he always seems to find a way to get on my bed and fall asleep on my face. It is qute a shock though to wake up with a hamster on your face...lol

uumm...I'm not sure but, he does it a lot it might be because of the warmth or it could just be because he likes to be with me or something else I don't really know. Either way it's really cute but no so much for the person who wakes up to a living ball of fuzz on their face...

wow i wish my hamster would ever be that comfortable as to be on my face! i can barely pick them up and when they get out of their tank in my room forget tryin to get them back i have to leave their tubing system on the floor and hope theyll be in there sleeping by morning!

Well my hamster doesn't really like to be held either but comma for some reason when I'm not awake he likes me more. It depends on what day it is because one day he'll love me to hold him a not move once but other times he'll do anything possible to get away. Whenever he escapes I don't worry about it because he always goes back to his cage before I wake up unless he decides to pay me an unexpected visit to my bed. His cage system, he has about six different kinds connected together with many separate rooms, is so big I guess he just likes it....
