As you know I just lost my rottie on Friday. This gentle boy came across me yesterday and I was heavily leaning towards going to adopt him. I just found out he is very food agressive, which will not work with my crew. Here's some basic info on him..if you can help him please do..he looks like an absolute darling and I just cannot save this one, he's too far away for me to go and evaluate so I can't even determine whether his food agression is just because he's at the pound, and the pound is just really not willing to do any temperment testing..

This is a regal dog. He just has an aura about him. He was found as a stray on 6/18. The animal control officer who brought him in wrote that he was well mannered and well taken care of. But no one came to claim this boy. He is estimated to be about 2 years old. He is a calm and handsome fellow. Right now he looks a little depressed to find himself stuck in a little pen with minimal human contact. He is in pen 58 which is outside in the back where the public rarely goes. That wont help him get adopted. If you are interested in this dog, please call the shelter at 302 856-6361. They can not hold dogs for long, even nice ones like this fellow. Don't wait. The shelter is usually crowded. Please contact us if you are interested in adopting or fostering this sweet boy. His time is running out. This information was posted on 7/9/04.

Here's a link to him on petfinder

Please if you can help contact the woman in email on the petfinder page.

I can't help you directly but have you looked for a Rottie rescue in your area? I have dealt with the one in Wisconsin and they are fabulous! Try contacting anyone within driving distance of you and see if someone has room for him!

unfortunately I'm in Western PA, this dog is in DE. I have contacted a few rescues as have the people who are trying to place him and they are just overflowing with Rotties. It's really sad. I just spoke to the woman at the shelter and poor Rudi is just NOT going to fit in my household. I feel horrible, he has such a darling face.

Poor baby. He looks so sweet. Are they sure that he is a full rottie? He looks just like my old Lab/Rott mix I used to have when I was younger.

he looks to me like he's all rottie..it's very hard to tell from the photos. I really don't know alot about him, I have never met him in person. I found him on petfinder yesterday and have found myself in a sea of emails back and forth trying to find out more about him. Unfortunately he is not right for my home but those eyes are just begging me to do all I can to help him.
