Our mini-lop, Floppy is generally a very good boy. He has been litter box trained since we brought him home and is just a lovable doll. He is limited to the family room currently but I want to expand his area to the entire first floor. This is not possible until he stops the rug-pulling behavior. He pulls out the carpet fibers from the wall-to-wall rug. He doesn't eat them but I find little piles of them behind the couches. He has lots of toys - cardboard hiding box, phone books to rip, toss toys and chew toys and a covered litter box which he loves to dig in. I've tried the bitter herb sprays but they don't sem to work. Any ideas?

Floppy's mom~
Well I went to www.rabbit.org (http://www.rabbit.org) to find info for you but their wasn't alot to find. I would say if you see him doing it to say no very loudly and then show him his toys that he can chew and dig on. He needs to know which he can chew and can't chew. If you have some carpet scraps maybe give him some of his own in one of his digging boxes. This way he can have his own carpet just as long as he doesn't eat the carpet. http://petshub.com/ubb/smile.gif Hope this helps, Bliss' mom http://petshub.com/ubb/cool.gif

Well I know how you feel!
My little mini rex has picked up the bad habbit as well.
I have found yelling at her no help. The thing I have had the best luck with is a water gun when ever she trys to pull fibers I give her a good spray.
how ever this only works if you can see the bunny.
blocking off sections like under couches and what not may help keep an eye on him.
good luck if you find something that works please let me know.

Glad to know I'm not the only one. What I have done was buy a small run runner and put it behind his favorite couch. Since he doesn't eat the fibers he can pull on this rug as much as he likes. I have noticed that he isn't doing it as much now - maybe the fun of doing something forbidden has worn off.
