Is this normal??

I have a little female Pug pup. Sometimes when she is really hyper and playing with her stuffed animals she will hump them! She is 4 months old. Is this normal for a girl? She couldn't be going into heat already could she? We are getting her spayed in two months.

I have a male, who is almost 4 months old, and when he is playing with a certain toy, he will hump it. But, he does not do it too often.

He humped a lot more toys when he was younger, but he has grown out of doing that lately.

Hi Leann. Your pup's behavior is nothing to worry about. It is a dominance issue-she's letting her toy know that she's the boss. I have a 14 month old female Great Dane that mounts my 14 month old male Great Dane at least 4 times a week. No, your girl isn't in heat. When she is in heat, the only way you'll know is by her bleeding, and her vulva will swell. 10 months is usually the earliest a female will come into her first heat.

My dog myah humped pillows, and her bed from bout 7 months to 12 months and shes a girl...she occasionally still does it when very hyper.
