is my cat bored?

every once and a while my cat will just break into song almost. he meows so loud and won't shut up for quite a long time. and then he just lays down and is quiet again.
What's his problem? he's not hungry/thirsty when he does this... does he just like to hear the sound of his own voice? our other kitten doesn't do this...

Could be. When my cat is bored - he does a Jim Carrey "Cable Guy" impersonation - Prrrrrrrrr-Owwww! Prrrrrrrrrr-ohhhh!! :p He also runs around the room, jumps up on the bed ... kinda hyper. Then after a bit, he'd lie down and rest :) :D

So your cat could be bored. How old is your cat by the way? I'm asking because I've read something about old age and such behaviour somewhere before.

He's just a year old this month. He has tons of toys to play with, and balls to chase and a kitten friend to chew on... (which he does, and she takes it, and gives some back too )so i don't really know why he would be bored.....
