Baby Rats need homes (OHIO)

my rat had babies yesterday! we were totally unaware until this past week when she got huge. we had purchased her from a local pet shop 2 1/2 weeks ago...obviously we didnt know she was pregnant -giving or selling the babies back to the pet shop is not an option for us. However, she had 15 babies :eek: !!!!!

we are going to keep some, but that still leaves 10-12 baby rats that will need homes. they wont be ready for another 7 weeks -and i will be posting pics and more info on them in the upcoming weeks. we will be having a small donation fee (this is only to deter potential snakefood buyers) -any questions or suggestions will be appreciated --email: dasmaschina@yahoo.com..

well here are the babies at 1 week old..at the moment, i believe there are 8 girls and 7 boys.. a few are iffies, so i'll have a better count in a few weeks.

ill be posting weekly update pics of them, momma will be in next weeks installment.. by then ill have batteries for my digital camera -she didnt come up to clearly on the webcam due to her being so dark.

How are they doing? Have you found homes for them yet? I live nearby. If I lived in a house, I would definitely get a pair. Right now I have 4 gerbils in the apartment.

If we get a house someday, I am going to expand my critters.

they are doing real well. they are just about 3 1/2 weeks old right now. i have only placed one boy for sure(to a friend who works at home, hers just passed of 2 years). there have been inquiries, but i am not going to consider anything definite until they are out the door with their new families. i am putting up their 4 wk old pics on the site this weekend. these pics will be individual pics of each baby still up for adoption, instead of the group shots i've been putting up. for a few days they were doing everything momma did, now almost all of them are acquiring their own minds and they dont have time to see what momma is doing anymore. :p

i cant believe how fast they are! they practically leap over those ramps in their cage. and they are all climbers! like little monkeys! gawd, they are so cute. :)

i like the capped boy. do you deliver? ^.^ I'm in clearwater FL. the capped one is the one that looks like a hooded but just his head is black. can you bring them to clearwater fl?

im sorry albino, but florida is way too far for me to personally deliver that rat. i could try to and see if i could find transporters that could get him down to you. but i will probably have better luck at trying and getting him to West Virginia. That is actually where the other rattie is going. When are you moving there? The other one is getting picked up in Oct.

The one you like is a sweetie. he has a little white spot on the top of his head and he is the only one where his tail is all pink. Cute! :)

i might be in west virginia in about 2 months. Aw! you still have him! i want him sooooo bad! he's so cute! if 2 months is too late maybe we could find a transporter or somthing....if not thats ok i guess. But i would really like to try and get him :)

ok. well, when you get the exact dates, let me know.
In the meantime, go ahead and fill out an application
for the adoption located on the rescue website, i can
at least keep it on file for you. If approved, i can
only hold a rattie for you with 1/2 of the adoption
fee down.
but if you are approved, then the sooner the better,
so i can start to work out the details for transport.
(i will write up something to send you if you were to

is NC to far plz im only 12 (cant drive and my mom cant either) and i wanted to breed with my lil boy and ur rats are absolutely perfect and really cute she wouldnt b lonely i have another female named cookie but i dare not breed them for they are brother and sister i do have a 3rd cage and im planning to buy more and a runaround area for them with a house sum blankets all the food they can eat a snak corner and everything if u saw it u could tell i love rats

ok thank u for at least responding (btw i never knew until yesterday that u can dye a rats fur (wet chew chew) on my white rat whuts worse is he is male and he is now pink lol)
