Help...
I have had my albino frog now for 4 years and watch it grow quite large.
It is very fast in the water and does chase the larger goldfish , but they are too large to eat.
Fed on bloodworm and whitebait of which it will eat 1 or 2 a day.
I found 'Her'? half on back and seemed not to be able to use back legs anymore to get to the surface, so I have remove her from the tank and put into shallower water so her head can poke out of the water.
It has suddenly become very lethargic and when held visibly breaths and swallows ( belly seems to undulate now and again) I have accounted for my 3 goldfish !
The rear legs just dont seem like they work anymore, it will struggle with its front legs though when held and hasnt eaten anything since (2 days)
No unusual skin discolouration or bloatiness,
has anyone any ideas as to what could be wrong as this has happend very suddenly without any changes to its environment.

thanks R.Lumb

ok when the frogs get older they get weaker and lose control of some body parts(usually legs rarely mouth but it can happen)but make sure it eats good and has a clean tank and take it to a local pet store to take a look at it and check for diseases. ok heres how to tell gender girls have a little tiny tail like thing at its butt and are usually much bigger then boys girls get to be 6 inches and boys usually around 3 or 4 inches long

uhm, what about the tank? filtration systems may affect frogs bacause they require absolutely still water. they also need higher temps than goldfish do. I've read frogs must be kept separately from fish and others: fish can carry deseases, and frogs may prey on fish (I'm planning to get some african dwarf frogs so I'm reading alot about the issue).

erk the frogs can be in a tank with other fish and they can have a filter it just has to be a quiet one so they dont have a really loud noise at all times, and the arfican dwarfs get really small and die very quickly so you might want to consider on the african clawed.
