i took my little cousin to the zoo yesterday, and we went into the small mammals building and they had sugar gliders...are sugar gliders wild animals or were those a diffrent kind of sugar glider?? i thought it was kind of weird to see a 'pet' in a zoo.

yes, gliders originate from Australia, they are marsupials, and are recent pets. Such as ferrets, who are also wild, or can be, I have seen wild ferrets.
There are different subspecies of Sugar gliders, but they all originate from Australia and it is not uncommon to see them in zoos. they are exotic pets. :o
That was a great question.
I dont visit here much often so if you have any further questions please feel free to email me: featherNFUr@Gmail.com :p

yeah, gliders are considered extremely exotic to the exotic animals category. they havent been domesticated long so they are still seen as a pet/zoo animal.
the zoo here actually has ferrets in there as well.
