I've read about it lately and I think I'd definately get it, but I already get a good employee discount at my vet....I've had too many sudden expensive illnesses pop up in my animals to risk not having SOME kind of help...I think it's a good idea, personally....

My best pal, a little 8 yr old chi-pom mix became ill in 2003. 2 vets later and almost $4,000. in bills she tragically passed away on Mother's Day...no vet could determine the cause of the spiking fever and high white blood count. I was fortunate in that I could pay the bills. But, I wondered what would happen to the little dog whose owners could not bear this type of financial outlay, right now and upfront in most cases. I decided to try to find some answers. Insurance is a viable option...and there are some alternatives. If you like, just email me and I can direct you to a page I posted about the health insurance crisis for dogs. And may all your dogs live long, healthy and happy lives :)

i have insurance on my horse and it is in case he dies or something of that nature. i didnt know that you could get health insurance on them,. but yeah great idea to get some if it covers the vet because vets can be expensive. especailly when it comes down to an emergency. and emergencies crop out of nowhere at the worst times possible

I recently started insuring my two Italian Greyhounds for about $50 a month. The reason why is because we don't have a couple grand put aside for them, and IG's are prone to broken bones and other emergencies.
Evaluate your pets and their circumstances and living conditions. You never know what could happen tomorrow, and it seems legit.
They pay for routine visits and vaccines as well as emergencies, and you can sign up for cancer care for another small fee per month.
Personally, I'm happy with it.
