Hello algernon,

You can train your cat that it is not supposed to attack those guinea pigs. It will take lots of time to train a cat, but it is not impossible. You need lots of patience.

I have seen cats and little rodents (guinea pigs and rabbits) together in a petshop. They seem to get along well and fine, each minding their own business.

Since your cat is still a kitten, it will most likely be successful that your kitten get trained and can get along with your little guinea pigs.

All the best of luck. Keep us all posted. http://petshub.com/ubb/cool.gif

I've never had any problems with my cat and guinea pigs interacting. At first the cat was fascinated by my guinea pigs and watched them constantly, now she ignores them. I definately wouldn't advise leaving your pigs out of their cage and alone with the cat. It depends on the personalities of the critters too. In general though, its usually not a problematic situation because guinea pigs aren't really the natural prey of cats, they've never occured together in the wild, and cats tend to hunt smaller animals.
