House of Pets
It is heartwarming to have pets around us.
A dog pounces on you when you are home,
Making his paw print on our pants.
A guinea pig wheeks at you when it is feeding time,
Making a nice chorus.
A bird chirps happily in the bright morning,
Making it a nice start of a day.
A hamster running its wheel,
Making us feel that we are too lazy to exercise.
A fish swimming around in its tank,
Making us feel like having a dip in the pool.
A rabbit chewing its carrot,
Making us wonder if it really likes carrots so much.
A tortoise hiding in its shell,
Making us wonder if it is really that timid.
It is fun to have pets in the house.
It helps relieve stress.
It helps to build a sense of responsibility in us to them.
It is simply lovely to have them around in our life.
