lol, I just suddenly realized that I have never told the story of how I got my cat, Khaith.

Well, I had a ton of friends over (Matt, Paul, Adam, Anthoney, Jenni, Caille, Brittany, Damien, Crystal, Jessica, Cody, Macy, Austin, Hannah, Sean, Sarah, and Zach. lol, thats alot!). It was some time in august I beleive, and we decided to go for a walk around the neighborhood at around midnight. We dicided to walk up to the lake and push each other in the water o_o yeah....we are weird at times...anyway, we decided to split up and take two different routes. In my group was Paul, Anthoney, Caille, Damien, Cody, Sean, Jenni, and Zach. we didn't get half way there before we noticed a little kitten (approx. 3 months old) following us. We all turned around, the kitten started running up to us. Sean made a comment about how it ran as if it were brain dead. The cat seemed offended by that, and sorta attacked Sean's leg. Everyone else started cracking up. It served Sean right! Well, we sat down in the middle of the road and started playing with this strange kitten. I know, a bit stupid of us since we didn't know if it had any diseases or anything. But we noticed the cat didn't have any collar or anything like that. We then went home, forgetting about the others that we split up with ^_^. Mom didn't want a strange cat in the house around Frisk and Mel, so we had to stay in the garage to play with the cat. Well, Jenni was acting like she knew everything when she said it was a female. Paul then looked and clearly pointed out that it was a male :D Soon most of the others had to go home (all except Caille, Jenni, Anthoney, Damien, and Paul, since Damein and anthoney were spending the night with Paul, and Paul lives in our neighborhood.) We decided that we should name the kitten until we found its owner. Tons of names were exchanged, but Damien was the one who thought of Khaith, and that just sorta fit with the cat, so we decided on Khaith.
Weeks past and the ad in the paper for a found cat hadn't seemed to catch the owner's eye, and we found no missing cat ads that fit Khaith's desc., so we decided to keep him. I was the one to keep him since all my friends either don't have room for a pet, or have too many pets, so he became a member of our family.
And thats pretty much how it happened! lol, that was a long story.

Aww! How cute! I have a story similar to that, but with a bit of a sadder ending.

My friend found a pretty grey cat roaming around our neighborhood and asked me if I wanted to keep it. It took a lot of begging but my mom finally said it was fine, but I had to keep with my nextdoor neighbor for the weekend while I was at my dad's.

So I came back home after the weekend was up and went to get my kitty and my neighbor told me I couldn't have it back because I'm not responsible enough for my own cat and I fought with her months to give me my cat back and she never did.

To this day she still has Smokey (me and my friend named her), and now Smokey is a big, fat, lame cat who does nothing. She was a good weight and very playful when we got her and now my neighbor is killing her by overfeeding her.

It really frustrates me because I was so excited. I have 2 cats now, but they just aren't like my Smokey. That's what I get for allowing my neighbor the chance. We now hate our neighbor and she's moving soon. I will never see Smokey again ... and for that I'm grateful. It's too painful seeing her sitting in the window doing nothing except being fat and useless. :crybucket

That is so sad! I hate to see cats just sit there, just being fat and taking up space!! Thats a horrible way for a cat to spend its whole life. I feel so sorry for you, that would be an awful way to loose a pet.

Yeah ... I keep trying to convince my mom to let me get my own kitten. She isn't budging. She says we have 2 and that's enough. I will get one eventually, just not right now.

I actually almost got one from a person on this forum, but their friend decided to keep it.

Someday ... and my next kitty will be black. I love black cats.

Yeah, I know how you feel. I am trying to get my mom to let me have two dogs (A Chihuahua and a Redbone Coonhound) I am mainly trying to get the Redbone first, but she isn't giving in either. She, too, uses the excuse that I already have a dog and two cats, and thats enough.... but it really isn't. o_o

I love black cats, too! I used to have a cat that was completely black, Rum was his name, I miss him so much. I planned on getting a black one as my second cat, but since Khaith just appeared out of no where, we decided to settle with him. My friend has a beautiful black male that had to have hip surgery recently. He still gets along great, though.

Good luck on getting a kitten! I know how hard it is, I had to beg over three years just to get the dog I have right now.
