My hammie as u all know have has had pups and they are 17 days old and i have a really dumb question. Are the babies supposed to b big as my mom hammy??? Cause they are still samll (dumb yes i know) but i i dont want pebbles to hurt her pups.HELP

They are still very young. Don't worry, they will grow. Some will be bigger then the mother, and some will be smaller. Depends on the genes.

Good news is that you can start holding the pups now. :)

YEAAAAAAAAA!!!!!!!!!!! :D :D IM soo happy ill just wait til tommorow so they will get some sleep!! I cant wait!!!! I just have to go out tommorow and get their cages and bedding for them. Im keeping ALL of MY PUPS!!!!! :) :) :) :) :)


:computer: NOTE:IM NOT GOING TO DO THIS IS JUST A QUESTION!!! just wondering is it bad to mate a male and a female from the same litter???Im just wondering because they say to breed hammies from the same litter, when a different website said its inbred and the pups can come out deformed. I think the problem comes with repeated inbreeding. However, I would consider the past generations of the hamsters- if they were from a petstore, you may not know that they are already inbred in past generations- so not worth the risk.

So... when do we get to see pics of the pups???

as so as i get my scanner working again ill post their pics. Here is something keeping me from holding the pups i have poisen ivy :( i cant hold them because my dad said dont touch them until we are sure if it really is poisen ivy. CAN HAMMIES GET SICK FROM POISEN IVY??????

I wouldn't risk it. Just talk to them and offer them treats, etc. Babies love some cooked pasta!

really wow didnt know dat mayb ill do dat. Is it normal to feel nervous about holding them they are 18 days old today and i am allowed to hold them but im just soo nervous.
