dead??? help please

please help..our family hamster isn't moving...she is always indoors of course, but for the past few days she hasn't been herself, now she is just laying there, not moving...I checked the books and saw the part about hibernation, but they all seem to say that this happens when it is cooler in the room, the room is the same temperature, no changes...how do I know what has happened????

Pick it up. If it moves, it's alive. If you pick it up and it smells real bad and does not move, it is dead.
