so we went to the pet store today to look around and we found some black berry and blue berry hammies. we got one of each and they are tiny. my question is, what are the classified under? russian? suberian? im so confused...

for those who dont know, the blue berry is a dark gray color with a black stripe.

the black berry is a shiney black with a dark gray almost black stripe on its back...

If they have a dorsal stripe, and come in a variety of colours, they would be Campbell's Dwarves. Most likely, the accurate color name would be:
Opal(the blue berry is a dark gray color with a black stripe)

and
Black(the black berry is a shiney black with a dark gray almost black stripe)

I encourage people to write to/speak to the petstores and ask them to label hamsters by their actual, recognized breeder standard colors and varieties. It avoids a lot of confusion. I have had much success with my Regional Petco on the issue- and other people are taking up the issue in their own areas- hopefully eventually this cosmetic naming will be replaced by more accurate, sensible labeling. It is important to know WHAT KIND of hamster you have- as you aer experiencing now.
