Last night my hamster was making strange nosies i've never heard her do before. Does each noise/squeek she makes mean something? Im not sure what it could be. If anyone knows what noises they make mean, could you help me?
Thanks
Louise

It was a sortof squeek i guess. She is on her own (she is a syrian). Well the situtation was that i changed her into a new cage and jumping but the noise i hear wasnt a noise cos she was scared or hurt.
I do have two other hamsters which are two syrains, a male and another female, maybe she was trying to talk to them. This now happened two nights ago. She is fine now. Maybe it was nothing, but i havent hear it beofre so i was just worried.

I have a teddy bear hamster and I took notice that he has been making squeaking noises lately. I always go over to his cage and make noise so he wakes up. But today he was already up and digging so I don't know why he is doing it. It doesn't last very long but he's being doing it about everyday. ??? He seems to be fine though.

I used to have syrians, they squeeked quite often, I think they get scared easily, and I know they had nightmares, they were always squeeking in their sleep.

I have many Syrians and dwarfs here.
The only time I have heard a dwarf make a noise was when I attempted an introduction (mistake) between two, and one when nuts screaming and trying to attack the other. I broke it up. They live alone.
I rarely hear a Syrian make sounds. Only a few squeak when excited or nervous, such as when I switch them into different bins to let them play for awhile before I move them back. I have never heard a pregnant ham make a sound, and I have had three here (accidents; I do not breed). And I kept and cared for all the babies.
