I have 2 large dogs (Mikah and Sami) and one little Siamese cat (Kuma). They get along great except Kuma has recently discovered the dog door. So now he's lost. My question is (if we find him) how do I prevent the cat from using the dog door?

I have sqirted him with water to scare him away from the door and as far as I know he hasn't been exploring the door at all -- until we couldn't find him...

The second problem is: how do I find my poor lost cat?? I have posted fliers everywhere, called all my neighbors, spoke to the people at the animal shelter and will be visiting all the local vets. Anything else I can do? Kuma can't use his front claws to defend himself and I'm afraid he will get hurt if I can't find him soon.

Dear mikah_no,

I am very sorry about your cat gone missing. I hope you are not living near any woods. I suspect that some people could have keep your cat as their pet, since your cat is a Siamese, i believe it must be really pretty.

Do state a reward that you will be giving to motivate people to return your cat to you.

Regarding the doggy door, you will need to train your cat not to use it then. You will surely need perserverance and patience to train your cat. Or, have another doggy door placed elsewhere. http://petshub.com/ubb/wink.gif

Let us know when you find your cat. All the best.

I do hope that you darling will return, but I was wondering why your cat can't use it;s front paws? Don't tell me you got it de-clawed? http://petshub.com/ubb/frown.gif Please, please don't tell me that! I fear that this is a very good reason for not getting a cat de-clawed. How can it protect itself now in the wide world?
I pray that you baby comes home soon.

Ain't it amazing that all cats have holes in their fur in all the right places!

If nobody has picked your cat up and brought it home or to a shelter, he will come back to you. Cats are very intelligent and can find home even when they're far away. I wouldn't worry too much about him not having claws in the front. He can still run fast and still has sharp teeth. When you find him though, I would suggest putting up a fence. Cats aren't obedient like dogs and aren't very easily trained. Good luck finding him.
