I have a Black Mottled Campbells Dwarf Hamster and a Russian Campbells Dwarf Hamster in the same cage. They've been together since I got them on Thursday and they were in the same cage at the pet store. Is it ok to keep them today or do I need to separate them? Thanks!!!

They are fine together, so long as they are getting along. They are the same species - just different colors. Are they the same sex?

As long as they are the same sex, then you can keep them together. If they are different sex, then you better seperate them, unless you want babies. :)

I am not sure, and suggest further research to avoid any possible fatal injuries due to a fight.

Both Campbells and Winter Whites are Russian Dwarfs. Since the tank was labeled Russian Campbells dwarf, it is probably a Campbells Russian Dwarf hamster. Pet stores tend to have different Campbells tanks labeled differently according to color, sometimes with very, er, "imaginative" names.
It seems likely that the two you have are both Campbells Russian dwarfs and are okay together.

Yep, but they are both Russians. Here's a link on it:

Campbells is the same thing as Campbells Russian. Neither tank mentioned Winter White or Siberian.

Well I had posted another thread earlier trying to figure out what kind they were because I was having trouble identifying them. Wheels responded and I researched the two types that she said and yup they seem totally accurate to me.
They also sleep together during the day all cuddled up and eat together and run on the wheel together sometimes. I'm having trouble identifying whether they are male or female. I'm completely new to hamsters and while I have done my research before I got them I'm still finding it difficult to identify gender. They are awfully squirmy when I pick them up still so maybe i need to put them on something clear and look underneath it. *shrugs*

It did seem much more likely to me that the two tanks would be labeled differently because of being different colors, rather than different species, based on what I have seen in stores. They like to try to market animals by using fancy color names.
And they are getting along, and look similar, so the matter is well resolved.
Congratulations on your new ones. Do you have pictures?

By the way, when I said they were the same species, I was assuming they had labeled the tanks correctly in terms of them both being Campbells, and it sounds like they did. I never meant that Winter Whites and Campbells were the same species, just that the hamsters in the two different tanks, both marked Campbells (in one way or another) were the same.
Here are a few links with photos of Campbells and Winter Whites:

There were all types of colors of hamsters in the tank but they were all Dwarfs. I'm pretty for sure that they are both Campbells Dwarfs but one is Black Mottled and the other is Russian. I'm pretty for sure that he isn't Siberian. I do have pictures though.

I did some further research on Lickety Split, the grey and white one, and he is also labeled as a Ruby Eyed Mottled Campbells Dwarf. Which from what I understand means that if he/she has babies with another of the same kind the babies will be born deformed lacking teeth, eyes, and/or legs and therefore cannot survive. Hmmm.
