Hello Hermione,

Hamsters do eat their young when threathened, etc.

I think your hamster could be getting fat, because since it is only 3 and a half weeks old, i don't think it is pregnant. :)

How many hamsters do you have? They are really cute and fun pets. :angel4:

I see i see. :D I thought she is only 3 and a half weeks old.

Then i think there could be some possiblities that she is pregnant if she is being kept together with males.

Don't worry, if her tummy starts to 'bloat' in another one more week, and it looks a bit round, then CONGRATULATIONS to you!! :angel2:

Feed her more and take good care. I am not sure if she is getting fat or pregnant. Either way, just feed her and handle her with care. ;)

Keep me posted.

Yes i believe at the pet store they keep males and females together they always have lots of dwarf hamsters i picked the most active one of the group to be sure of no health probs
her tummy is about 2 times as big as it was when i got her :agree:

I love to give you a definite answer. But i don't wish to give you any false hope. :) She does sound pregnant from what you describe. You will need to feed her more food and nuts. If she is really pregnant, she will most likely to give birth in about 3 to 4 weeks time.

Do not provoke her as this might threathen the lives of the babies.

Good luck.

Hi,

Relax, I tell you. Your hamster is just growing up. Anyway she is too young to have babies. She can only get pregent once she is at least 5 weeks old. So don't worry and relax.:angel5:

Hermione, when hamster bring the bedding to a corner, they are preparing a nest for babies. Some are just making a comfy 'bed' for themselves. I have a male hamster who which his own 'bed' with the bedding! I am not sure what is the pinky stuffs from your hamster. Could be she is going thru some heats. But from her aggression, she sounds and acts like she is pregnant.
Congras!

Nuts like sunflower seeds will make your hamster love you to pieces. Mine love it, but i give moderate amount to them, as it is rather fattening.

Yes, you will provoke your hamster when you are chaing the beddings. I would suggest you do it slowly bit by bit when she is sleeping. ;) When she gets up, stop changing. Hang on for awhile, till she sleeps again and scoop a few more beddings out. Not advisable to change all, as it would make her foreign to the surrounding.

Is she still getting fatter? Remember to give her more nuts and veggies. :)

I would have to agree with pearl she does act like she is pregnant. But usually a hamster doesnt show until about four days before. You should clean her cage but not her nest. So if she is it will be ready. With the clothe you can give her tissue and that will suit her. And hamsters are able to become pregnant at four weeks to five. I should know mine did. Thank goodness she is okay. With the pink stuff in her cage you might want to contact a vet she may be having trouble giving birth because she is so young.
