Anyone know how I can talk someone into letting me ride a horse they think is too spirited for me? I know its not because I visit her out in the pasture, and she is very sweet. Thanks :jump:

Have you ever watched this horse under saddle? Someone I know bought an old gymkhana horse. This horse was very sweet and quiet on the ground, but as soon as you got on him in an arena, all he would do was run and buck.
I'd say watch someone ride him before you pass judgement on him.

I agree, what you see while stood on the ground can be the complete opposite once you are sat on its back. I would advise seeing this horse ridden before deciding whether you think you could ride it yourself.

The horse is fine when someone rides her. I have watched someone ride her before and the person had no trouble at all with the horse.

well you also need to consider the experience of the rider and actually take a very good look at your riding experience. if you two are about the same (and be totally honest with yourself because if you are not, you or the horse could get hurt) but if you two are about the same experience (RIDERS!) then i would say go for it!

If someone thinks the horse is too spirited for you i'm sure they ahve a good reason for saying that.....i'm not syaing you're a bad rider...but i remember when i started riding there was one horse in the barn i really wanted to ride...but the horse was too spirited for me....i'd ask once in a while to ride him but the answer would always be no. once i finally got to ride him i understood why i couldnt ride him.....so keep up your riding and sooner or later you'll be able to ride this horse and understand why they wouldn't let you ride the horse.
