Hi...I usually post in the rabbit forums, but I thought I should post this in a few other forums here. The link with the pictures is very graphic, or at least that's what I hear...I couldn't bring myself to look. Please sign the petition, the link is listed below. I don't know if it will change anything, but it's worth a try.

There's an artist, Nathalia Edenmont, who kills cats, mice, doves, RABBITS, and other animals, mutilates their bodies, and then takes their photographs. She's on exhibit, among other places, at the Wetterling Gallery in Sweden. She has taken the top halves of five white mice and made them into finger puppets. She beat a cat to death with a stick. And this is called art. This is not only inhumane, but morally reprehensible.

I knew I saw that site somewhere else. Its pretty fricking hillarious. If you look carefully at the second picture you can easly tell the photo is fake.

I looked up the "artist's" name on google and it seems like it's for real. I didn't search through all the pages of results, but I haven't found anything to say it's a hoax or fake. :( Here's another article I found on her work...

Okay anyways..im still looking for that artical, but basically the artical said that there is no way a dead cat would fit into a bottle..have any of u had a cat die on you? and u feel how hard the body gets? there is no possible way..PETA was so upset when the website first came out that they potitioned it..lots of places did but later dropped there potition knowing it was fake. Search the PETA site u will find nothign about her on there, and if the whole story were even possibly true, the media would be all over it..theres not even enough articles on google to suggest she is real. Like i said earlier..its all made in paint shop pro..and i will do a graphic just like it just to prove it..if u want..anyone can make a website and put shit on it..doesnt mean its true!

actually, that artist is for real- I've read articles about her, plus one in FHM (or Maxim?) magazine. Yes, sadly there are sick people in the world who think mutilating animals is aesthetically pleasing.

Tia

the media is all over it, to an extent. I've randomly run into information about her before. Also, with the use of chemicals and tools, I'm sure its not hard to manipulate a dead cat's body. Look at Bonsai kitties, who would have thought you could stuff a kitten inside a jar but people do it..and as much of a travesty it is, the media is not 'all over it' as much as it should be. Don't be so naive and think some twisted person somewhere in the world woundn't do bad things to animals. I mean geez, look at all the people who hunt 'for sport' here in the U.S.

Actually, there was a film, about a videotape of 3 men torturing a cat to death, shown at the Toronto Film Festival this year, and it was called 'art'. Three young men, one of them an 'art' student and self proclaimed 'animal activist'(remind me never to have him on my side, caught a stray cat, and slowly tortured it to death while videotaping it. This site gives you more background on it:

No, it's not fake. Bonsai Kitten is fake, though. So is 'save toby', if you've heard of it.

Btw, this thread is a year old.

It's a way of making money. The death of Toby has been brought forward over the years...it's currently due in 2006.

The creator's written a book on it, suprisingly.
