I have a green rump male 8 year old parrotlet named Ozzy, with a sizzor beak..... He is soooooo cute and loves to play out side his cage. He hangs upside down and cherps alot. He does not talk but I wish he would. I got him with the cage for $35. I only got him that cheep because the owner I new and he had to get rid of him and all his birds because where he was moving he could not have them.... So go ahead show off your parrotlets.. I will post pics latter on.....

I just got my first bird, a little male parrotlet, today. He doesn't have a name yet, but he's already all over his cage and toys. I'm very excited, looking forward to many happy years! I'll get some pictures of him when he's a little more settled in.

You need info I can help. They can live 15 years but are known to live up to 30. They act just like a parrot even if there only about 4 to 6 inch long. It counts on what breed you get there are more than one type of them. They are fun to have as pets and they can be sweet or little mean things at some times. The green rump is the smallest of the parrotlets. Here are some sites on them.

I have a green rump parrotlet named Petie; he will be 3 next month. His beak also tends to scissor, and I have to trim it. (Don't trim it yourself until a professional has shown you how).
He is such a sweet and gentle bird. Just a baby!

Ya I know how to trim it. The beak can be fixed by a vet but Ozzy is like 9 so he is old and our vet said there is a chance he wont make it if they even tried. SO Im just going to keep it trimed down. He can play, eat, sleep just fine with it.
