Hi,
I have about a dozen neon tetra's in my 10 gallon tank. The last few days i have been observing the smaller tetra's tend to get stuck in the filter, so I am assuming they are weak. The other tetras are comparatively bigger than them.. Right now I dont have anything like a medical or a quarantine tank, is it safe to put the Neon's in some kinda glass jar or bowl for say a week or 10 days? Please let me know if this can be done.

Thanks
Akshay

Putting them in a jar or bowl without filtration for any long period of time is probably not a good idea. It works for bettas because they breathe directly from the air, but tetras can't. Also, tetras need swimming space to stay happy, and a small jar wouldn't give them the area they need.

I think there are things you can put over or around the filter to keep it from sucking fish in. I know you could probably imporvise one out of wire mesh or something along those lines. :D

Never put tropical fish in a bowl! ;)
