Yes, I'm finally getting my flyer! He's six weeks old and is coming by plane on Wednesday. I'm so excited! :) But I wanted to ask some of the other flyer owners out there a question. I'm in college, and I have an apartment where I live during the week. I go home, which is an hour's drive away, every other weekend and stay from Friday night until Sunday evening. Taking my rat is easy, because all I need is his travel cage and a carrying case. But what about a flyer? What kind of cage would be good to keep him in for the two days I'm home, without having to lug his big cage around? I mean, if I have to stuff his normal cage into the trunk every time it wouldn't be too big a hassle, but if there is any other alternative it'd really make my life a lot easier! ;) Would he be too cramped in a rat-sized cage for a few days? Are there such things as 'travel flyer' cages?

IMO it'd be too stressful. Plus not having the room to glide around, im sure he/she wouldnt be very happy with that.

Hey Jannah. Congrats on your flyer! How's he doing?

As for transport, if you're still looking for opinions, I kept Kadai in a small rat cage for a month or so during the summer, right after I got him, because I kept going between my dad's house and my friend's house. He was fine. Not happy about it, but fine. Yours should be all right for a couple days, especially if he's young. Unless you specifically teach them, flyers don't really learn how to glide. They can jump, and figure out short glides by themselves, but it's not like a bird who needs room to flap their wings.
