my hermet crab won't come out

I just got my hermet crab and he won't come out of his shell to play. I know he ain't dead cause he was moving inside, but i wanna play with him. What do i do?

Hermit crabs are nocturnal which means they are only active at night. So wait until its after dark and keep the room fairly dark. Then you should see your crab out and walking around.

If you just got him, leave him alone for at least a week in the dark and quiet and give him a chance to destress and recover from being at the pet store.

Hermit crabs are VERY social, he needs at least one friend.

he finally came out and played for 2 hours. lol
