I just got Punkin treated for fleas when I noticed a little while ago that she would occasionally have a tiny white worm on her bum or tail. I only find them occasionally and theyre so small theyre hardly noticeable..is this the kind of worm that results from fleas?

Tapeworm....you need your kitty wormed! Flea larvae ingest the worm eggs, cat ingests the flea.....kitty gets the worms.
You can get Drontal at Petshed.com, cheaper than a visit to the vet. Under 8 lbs give 1/2 tablet, over 8lbs 1 tablet.

This sounds like tapeworms to me and as far as i am aware they are not the result of having fleas. You need to get your cat dewormed ASAP. These worms live in the intestines and can be hazardous to you kitty's health. You vet will give you the medication in liquid form or in pill form and the worms should be gone within a week.

You vet will give you the medication in liquid form or in pill form and the worms should be gone within a week.

Also it may take more then one treatment to get rid of all the worms. After the medicine from your vet have the kitten checked out. Its stools that is. I have seen some take more then three doses to kill all the worms.

Yes there are usally 2 dewormings done, but not sure if that goes for tapeworms also. Tapeworms do come from injesting fleas.
